“I paddled with Jules for almost 3 years, first in kayak and later in SUP. When I first started, I had no idea what I was doing and was a little intimidated by the experienced group Jules led. She made it so easy – giving me just enough instructions at the right time to build my confidence and not overwhelm me. She knows how to push everyone out of their comfort zone just enough and when to let people just enjoy a beautiful sunrise. Her love and enthusiasm for paddling is contagious. Because of Jules, I went from zero experience to feeling very comfortable paddling 10-15 miles quickly. She helped me improve my stroke and form. Her sprint practices will totally kick your butt.”

“Navigating the waters of San Francisco Bay has been an adventure of a lifetime, thanks to the incredible guidance and coaching of Jules. From our first lesson in Raccoon Strait, Jules has always been remarkably observant and curious, qualities that make her a unique guide. She doesn’t just teach the techniques; she encourages an understanding and respect for the environment you’re navigating. Transitioning to Baltimore, she brings with her a wealth of knowledge, an unbeatable strength, and a passion for paddle sports that is truly inspiring. Her expertise isn’t just in how to paddle a kayak, surf ski, or stand-up paddle board; it’s in understanding the water, the wind, and the way they interact, making her an invaluable navigator and coach.

Her approach is always encouraging, fostering a sense of confidence and growth among her students. Whether you’re a beginner feeling the sway of the board for the first time or an experienced paddler looking to refine your skills, she knows exactly how to tailor her coaching to meet your needs.”

“I highly recommend paddling with Jules- no matter your level of experience, or your preferred water craft.
Jules not only dominates anything on the water , she will give you confidence, room to grow and learn.  She knows when to challenge you, when it’s a good day to take it easy.  I started paddling with Jules in 2020, never having paddled a sea kayak before.  In less than a year I was racing and placing.  And – when I wasn’t training, Jules is a great pal to be out on the water with – chatting and relaxing. She built the most amazing community with us in the Bay Area – and I can’t wait to see what she builds with you all in Baltimore!!
Don’t overthink it … just get out and paddle with Jules.  It will change your life in the best possible way.”

“I’ve paddled with Jules for both morning group and evening group (kayak and SUP) events. I only met her a year ago but she quickly became a friend and mentor. Looking out for me when I was down and encouraging me to take steps to become a better kayaker.  There are not a lot of people like her. She is a true asset to a new and seasoned kayaker as well as a compassionate and socially engaging individual.
Do what you can to be a part of her world.”

Jules is an amazing guide & coach!  She provides a perfect balance of understanding client needs, teaching skills and safety, and making the experience memorable and fun.  In addition, her passion for paddling and her knowledge of the water is infectious.  If you get the opportunity to get on the water with Jules, do it!!

“I never took a class with you, but I observed your excellent skillset of sheparding new people, encouraging, offering tips but never overbearing, always knowing where everyone was, fluidly chatting while keeping an eye out. Plus that sea and bird knowledge. They are lucky to have you starting this.”

“Jules is fantastic! If you have the chance, hang out with her long-term, and your kayaking and life will be better for it. She taught me how to get into the kayak, improve my paddling stroke, and how to sprint. While she is consistent and an observant teacher, what stands out is that she is an undercover community builder. All in all, Jules is wonderful to learn from and added to my husband’s and my lives through kayaking.”
