Hi!

Let’s see… A bit about me…
I am from Buenos Aires, a “porteña”, where I lived for the first 18 years of my life. Is where my deepest roots are and the corner of the planet I belong to. It’s also where my life got intrinsically connected with water. I grew up sculling and kayaking, things about me that developed me into adulthood in New York City where I lived for the next 14 years of my life.
I worked at Manhattan Kayak Company in Chelsea and later Hells Kitchen, where I truly learned to kayak and started refining the balance of living in a city and staying connected to nature. More on that on a later blog post…

A lot of family from my mom’s side is in NYC which is why it will always be home to me. I cannot ever get tired of paddling around Manhattan and will never get used to the bounciness of the Mighty Hudson or the extraordinary swirls of Hell Gate. New York and Eric Stiller, owner of MKC taught me more about life than I could absorb in those years. I’m still processing and integrating those lessons, gratefully.

The last 8 years I had the enormous privilege of calling Marin County home. I live on the water in Sausalito, on a 30 foot powerboat with my two puppies. I have a 2 minute commute to Sea Trek and the most wonderful views of Richardson Bay, the seals, the pelicans, the sunsets and sunrises, right outside my boat windows. I also have access to magnificent redwood forests, rocky coastal beaches and of course, the Golden Gate. San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean refined my Surfski skills. Here, I was declared a “big water paddler” and felt like the crown I had been working towards. I faked it a lot till I conquered my dislike of cold water and most days, I made it! I wore more neoprene than cotton, went through too many pairs of booties, seldom had a tan line longer than 3 days (the average, year round temperature in Sausalito is 53 brrr) but despite the cold weather, the Bay Area has somehow collected some of the best paddlers I’ve ever known. Not only in skill, but culturally, you won’t ever come across a group of paddlers more generous, more eager to share their knowledge, lend you gear and push you harder than a Northern Californian. I love it here, I love my community and this incredible place I get t call home and my playground.
